FINALLY WINTER HAS GONE - PHILIPP WALSDORF WILL START IN THE GERMAN ELECTRIC KART CHAMPIONSHIP

The winter break was long but now the planning for the 2018 season is safe. New technologies on an old known basis will accompany my way into the future. Less than half a year ago I wrote a scientific school essay about the question "Is the electric engine the drive of the future (...)". At that time still on a theoretic base.
Now I decided to find out more in a practical scene. In this season I will compete in the worlds first ever electric kart championship, the DEKM 2018. The Deutsche Elektro Kart Meisterschaft (German electric kart championship) will be the new generation in motorsports!
As part of the DKM (Deutsche Kart Meisterschaft - German kart championship) and under the flag of DMSB (Deutscher Motor Sport Bund - German motor sports association) the most innovative kart cahmpionship will be carried out on the most modern race tracks.
"The high performance racing eKart is fitted with a specially developed Sodi Sigma DD2 Chassi, Vega tyres and will accelerate up to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds up to 130 km/h by the Rotax ePowerpack.
Because of the centralized provision, the regulated test days and tyres equal opportunities and cost efficiency are the focus of this championship.
The best driver of the Deutsche Elektro Kart Meisterschaft will be supported by Porsche Motorsport in the following year with a series of training programms."
For me the new technology brings up some new and unknown challenges. Nevertheless I set my targets clearly. I want to be at least among the top 5 or fight for victory!
Preparations are already in full swing. In addition to the physical fitness and healthy nutrition, I also work on my mental strength.
I'm really looking forward to the test days with the High Performance Racing eKart and I'm curious how they will go. In addition to the handling of the new development I am also very interested in the comparison to a conventional kart with internal combustion engine. I know that the electric drive has a high potential and I am curious how this shows in the driving behavior.
I thank my fans, partners and sponsors, but also my parents and my club for their trust. For next season I am very positive.
