TESTWEEKEND IN THE GERMAN RALLYCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP - PHILIPP WALSDORF ROCKS THE MOTORSPORT ARENA

Now that Philipp Walsdorf has grown up and feels the time has come to leave the kart behind he starts to look for new experiences. A first test on a race trackk of automobiles was done in a hired Honda Civic Type R during the last race weekend of the German Rallycross championship in the Motorsportarena in Oschersleben. The car was prepared by the Belgian tuner Steve Haentges and showed up a very good performance. Philipp got his first impression of the car on Friday that weekend. Not much time to become familiar with it. Saturday morning was the first chance to move onto the race track with the to him unknown car. Philipp very fast found a good way around the track and through the mixture of asphalt and gravel. Already in the qualifying he could show his talent and put the car on third position. He finished the first heat third as well.
On Sunday he even improved, finishing the second heat second, and winning the third heat masterfully. So Philipp Walsdorf managed to start in his very first race in German Rallycross Cup from second position. In the final race he had some difficulties during the start because he was not s familiar with the gear changing of the Honda. He entered the track third but already after a short way he corrected this and moved into second position in the gravel part of the track. During the rest of the race he put a lot of pressure on the leader of the race. Twice it looked as if he could even pass the leader but then he had to stay behind. So he finished his first race ever in a racing car second. After the race the winner congratulated and thanked him for a fast and very fair race without any contact between the cars.
Philipp Walsdorf showed his attributes: fast, clever, fair. With his carefree driving style, he has cast a spell over the audience. This makes us wanting to see more of him.
